SOLID is a yearly changing, multidisciplinary team of students from Eindhoven University of Technology. Founded in 2016, the team has grown expeditiously into a large and ambitious organization. We aim to further develop our skills, iron fuel technology and the ecosystem surrounding iron fuel. With the many different ongoing projects, we aim to accelerate and facilitate the energy transition. Our team currently consists of 25 students from Eindhoven University of Technology with a great variety of students from the bachelor’s and master’s programs.

As a foundation, SOLID positions itself in a unique position. All 34 students choose to work on these technologies in their own time, besides or in stead of this study. This allows SOLID to focus on technologies that aren’t commercially viable yet, but already to large for the academic world to develop. If one were to overlay the Technology Readiness Level of new and exciting innovation against the funding it would get, there will always appear a certain low point in a technology’s lifecycle: the valley of death. This is exactly where the ambitious students of SOLID come in.
